La vallée Taconique

La Vallée Taconique enthralls all those fortunate enough to enjoy its slopes!

Giovanni Mancini—a young outdoor sports enthusiast from Montréal who now lives in Mont-Saint-Pierre—was behind the reopening of La Vallée Taconique in winter 2008. The ski resort is the only one in Québec to offer both alpine touring skiing and snowboarding, and its 550 m vertical drop ensures sliding sports enthusiasts can enjoy plenty of slopes worthy of the name!

The resort boasts vast amounts of natural snow on five steep slopes carved into a valley sculpted by the glaciers some 15,000 years ago. The valley enjoys a microclimate that leads to outstanding snow conditions and shelters the slopes from the prevailing winds. Even the top of the mountain falls below the tree line, which adds a certain charm as visitors make their descent between the trees. The snowfall in the undergrowth is truly spectacular. Come whizz across the 6 m of snow (at least!) that falls every year.

The concept is simple and straightforward: Freeride skiing with snowmobile transportation back to the top so that you can enjoy several runs on the same day. The season begins on December 15 and ends on April 15.
